The use of Aachen™ pre-oxidation to increase recovery and reduce reagent consumption during gold cyanidation

Abstract

Understanding the mineralogical composition of a gold-bearing ore is crucial for optimizing gold recovery and reducing reagent consumption during the cyanidation process. Certain processes can be employed to improve the efficiency of the cyanidation process based on the mineralogical composition of the ore. The use of pre-oxidation is one of these methods that has proven to be effective. This study compares two pre-oxidation methods as potential strategies to improve gold recovery and lower reagent usage.
